Welcome to the Children’s Ministry of First Baptist Church. We are dedicated to teaching and ministering to you and your first through sixth grade children. Our desire is that each child develops spiritually and comes to know Jesus Christ in a real and personal way.
Our dedicated staff of teachers are specially trained, love children and are committed to building spiritual foundations that guide them to hear, to know and to do God’s Word through applying and living Biblical truths. One of our greatest joys is being a part of leading a child to Christ.
The Children’s Ministy provides a warm, loving and safe environment to learn about God, to know His love and to experience Biblical truths as they grow in Him. This growth happens through participation in Sunday School, Children’s Choirs, Mission Organizations ( GA’s and RA’s ), Children’s Camp, Retreats, Vacation Bible School and other special events.

Charlyne Bryant
Minister to Preschool and Children, Interim
Charlyne Bryant began serving at First Baptist Church in 1993 as the Mother’s Day Out Director, and now is in her 17th year as Director of Children’s Ministries. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, AL. She has taught in elementary schools in Oklahoma and Kansas before moving to Texas.
Charlyne provides leadership for all children’s activities, programs, ministries and events for grades 1 through 6. She is also involved on the Associational level serving on the Children’s Education Leadership Council for area wide training events such as Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Bible Drill.
Charlyne is married to Byron Bryant and they have three children, Kevin, Eric, and Amy.
The Children’s Ministry focuses on laying a firm foundation through Bible study and activities that will lead a child to salvation in Jesus Christ.
