Led by the Lord, First Baptist Church of San Antonio is seeking their next Senior Pastor. As unique as the church itself, this position will commence with a two-year co-pastorship with the current Senior Pastor, T. Don. Guthrie.
The next Senior Pastor will be a Bible teacher with a strong commitment to prayer and a personal devotion to the Lord. The Pastor will: preach the Word with confidence in its authority, reliability and sufficiency; lead with a tender desire to know and love the people of FBCSA and San Antonio; and be results-oriented, able to lead and encourage a large ministerial staff and a diverse congregation. The Pastor will be visionary, driven to strategically manage the growth of the church while holding strong to the core beliefs and mission of FBCSA.
In this unique and intentional two-year transition, the incoming Senior Pastor will have the gift of time to gracefully become acquainted with the membership and staff of FBCSA and the greater San Antonio area, to preach weekly and assimilate into the dynamic heartbeat of this church, and to be nurtured and mentored by the long-standing and well-respected current Senior Pastor. This deliberate transition and succession plan has been prayerfully crafted with the desire to fulfill the Lord’s will and to faithfully shepherd the flock of FBCSA.
We are confident this unique plan will speak to the heart of the Pastor whom God has raised up to come to FBCSA. We look forward with expectation to the Pastor who will soon, and for many years to come, call FBCSA home.
