On Sunday, October 26, we celebrated a milestone in the life of First Baptist Church of San Antonio—the 100th anniversary of our sanctuary!
Completed in 1925 at a cost of $267,000, the San Antonio Express described our sanctuary as “one of the finest in Texas.” For a century it has been a place of worship, prayer, and life-changing moments, and now we invite you to join us as we honor this remarkable legacy.
The Celebration Schedule Consisted of:
11:00 AM Traditional Worship
• Choir’s call to worship will echo the same music sung at the 1925 dedication.
• Recognition of members baptized and married in the sanctuary.
• A special offertory moment where all members, including children, can bring monetary gifts to the altar.
4:30 PM All-Church Fellowship
• Children's scavenger hunt.
• Children’s artwork and essays on display.
• Videos of former pastors sharing memories.
• Hand-held vintage desserts (sign-up opportunity coming soon).
• Exhibit of vintage 1920s Model-T cars by the Texas T-Party club.
• Members are invited to dress in 1920s costumes—join the fun!
