Our workshops offer a great introduction to a new medium for novices and beginners or as a preview to our group art courses. All levels are welcome to register and be a part of these fin and engaging classes.

All workshop materials provided. Free parking available on church campus parking lots.

    Guidelines

    WORKSHOPS WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT THEIR SCHEDULED TIME.
    Please arrive to class 10-15 minutes early to allow time to find the classroom and settle in.

    WORKSHOPS ARE FOR PARTICIPANTS OF REQUIRED AGE.
    Absolutely no children or infants please. No childcare is available.

    REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT POLICY
    Registration made online is required to guarantee you a saved seat. If you do not prefer to pay online, cash or check payments can be arranged with the IMAGO program coordinator Mayra Cruz. Please email her at here before or by the registration deadline.

    CANCELLATIONS-NO REFUND POLICY
    If you are unable to make it to the workshop we will be happy to issue you a credit towards a future IMAGO workshop. This will only apply is you give a minimum 24-hour notice to the IMAGO Program Coordinator. Credits would expire by the end of the Spring 2019 semester. "NO SHOWS" or "LATE NOTICES" will not be issued a credit or a refund.

    Portraiture

    Fun with Faces! If you are comfortable with a pencil in your hand but still think portraits are too challenging, then try our Portraiture Workshop!

    Instructor Dan McBain takes you step-by-step through proportions and "how to" on facial features. You'll get positive critiques and demonstrations. See improvement in a short time!

    Shoe Design

    Have you ever considered shoes as art OR do ever think about the work involved in the making of your shoes?

    IMAGO’s Shoe Design workshop offers an engaging preview to the footwear design process, from initial brief and ideation, to final concept.  Students will also leave the workshop with a footwear design concept drawing of their own creation and new knowledge about shoemaking and the footwear industry. 

    About the Instructor:

    Footwear Designer Mayra Cruz has 6 years professional experience and has designed for brands in Italy and Texas.  She has a BFA in Visual Arts Studies from UT-Austin, a Masters in Advanced Footwear Design from Polimoda Fashion Institute in Florence, Italy and has taken additional courses through Pensole Footwear Design Academy and SOLEcial Studies of OSD: Obsessive Sneaker Disorder.  She has presented on footwear design in schools and museums, aiming to educate the community on the fascinating shoemaking process.  She is also an artist, art teacher and arts program coordinator and thrives on encouraging others to learn and grow in their creative pursuits.

    Crochet

    Students will learn a basic technique of crocheting and complete a small crochet craft in class.  Taught by instructor Gina Padilla, she works with students by skill level - from novices to more advanced levels.
