Season of Giving

Ways To Get Involved This Holiday Season

150 Pies For Teachers and Caseworkers

Pie collection and distribution was a huge success! Thanks to all who contributed through funds, pies, and prayer!

Thanksgiving Meal Delivery

Deliver and/or Donate by November 18th

FBCSA's "Fostering Together" ministry ministers to families and children in the foster system. This Thanksgiving we are focusing on Kinship Foster Families through the South Texas Alliance for Orphans.

Are you willing to supply all or part of a Thanksgiving Meal for one family? Are you willing to deliver the meal and start a long-term and invested relationship with those who need support and care?

In this Season of Giving, show that you are truly Thankful for what you have by giving selflessly to others in need.

The needs for this have been filled. Thanks for your generosity!

Gifts for Kids

Due December 8th

Partnering with organizations city-wide, the South Texas Alliance for Orphans has an annual "Jingle Mart" that collects toys, clothes and other items specifically for children in the Child Protective Services system and the Foster system. Foster Parents and Grandparents are given the opportunity to "shop" for free for the children.

Shop online by clicking the button below or grab an ornament from the table in Unity Hall that guides you to buy gifts for the 14 - 17 year old teenage kids that we have committed to provide gifts for this season. When you go to the Amazon wish list, linked below, please choose to send your gift to Beth Ann Jackson. She is the person responsible for collecting the gifts from our church for the "Jingle Mart."

Do you think you are not ready to be a Foster Parent yourself but want to help the cause? You could also apply to become a certified babysitter, which is one essential way to love on these kiddos without taking them on 24/7 as a foster parent. Foster parents are always in need of babysitters so they can have a break every now and then.

Kicks for Kids

Due December 13th

Did you know we have a Basketball ministry to inner-city kids that happens every Wednesday night in the FBCSA gym? Did you know because of your donations to Community Missions, we can feed them in the Fellowship Hall and pay for their use of the Gym?

We give them a lesson from the Bible and Pray when they are here, so why not Gift them with their own Bible and a new Pair of B-ball Shoes?

Please use the form below or pick up a "playing card" in Unity Hall with a child's picture and information.

Your opportunity to give them these gifts face-to-face is on our last scheduled Wednesday night on December 13th. Will you get to know one of these children and bless them during the Season of Giving?

Foster Family Christmas Party

December 16th

We are pleased to have this second annual party for parents and foster kids to enjoy refreshments, crafts, storytime, and photos with Santa, in Unity Hall, the playground and the Parlor.

Please make plans to attend and volunteer during this simple time of play, festivities, and fun. We need help with kid's craft time, story time, and serving refreshments.

We need cookies and goodies to be donated.

Will you come and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with these underserved children and parents?

Volunteer Opportunities Available!

Cards for Lackland Recruits

Due December 17th

Every year we have blessed the homesick military trainees with hand-written Christmas Cards for them during the Holidays. Are you willing to write a few cards with spiritual and loving encouragement?

Our volunteers with the CRU Military Discipleship ministry will deliver these the week before Christmas. We are hoping to provide 750 Cards this season. The cards need to have a Christian message and not be secular. We also encourage you to write the card as you would to a family member you love.

Please visit the table in Unity Hall if you have any questions.

Coats and Blankets Donation

Accepted through the Winter months

We are requesting new or gently used and clean sweaters, jackets, hats, mittens, and blankets for everyone in need. We minister to the homeless, veterans, the elderly, and children. Who will you bless others this winter by donating items you cannot use anymore to give someone a warm night's sleep? You may drop off in any of the Community Mission donation bins around the church.

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

Due December 25th

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® is an annual offering collected by Southern Baptists to support international missions. The offering was officially named in 1918 by Woman’s Missionary Union in honor of the missionary to China who urged churches to start it and give sacrificially.

100% of the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering enables gospel transformation among the unreached. This is a wonderful way to support your SBC Missionaries and keep them serving the Lord overseas.

There are offering envelopes on the Missions Map Wall or you can donate here. Just be sure to designate on the check that it is for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering or enter our church name when giving online.
