•  What does LOGOS mean?


Pronounced “law ghas,” it is the Greek for “word, utterance or meaning.” When used theologically, it speaks of the personification of God (see John 1:1). We use it because we want to walk through the story of the Bible, God's Word, each time we gather together.

•  What is "narrative worship?"

"Narrative worship" is a worship experience guided by the storyline of the Bible, Creation, Fall, Redemption and Restortation. When we gather, we celebrate God's rightful reign over everything (Creation). We admit our rebellion against God and recognize the drastic effects on ourselves, our relationships and our culture (Fall). We rest in the finished work of Jesus to provide forgivness before God, direction for living and peace with others (Redemption). Finally, we find hope for tomorrow and eternity knowing that God will put right what has gone wrong (Restoration).

•  What is the music like in LOGOS Contemporary Worship?

Music in LOGOS follows the pattern of the Bible: God speaks, and we respond. Most of the music and corporate singing takes place after the teaching as an expression of our gratitude to God. While different styles of music are utilized from time to time, the music is primarily led by a band that incorporates guitar, keyboard, bass and electric guitar and drums. We want everyone to be able to participate, so lyrics are displayed on large screens at the front of the room.

•  Where and when does LOGOS Contemporary Worship Service meet?

The LOGOS contemporary worship service is held in Wilson Chapel (in Webb Hall) beginning at 9:30am. The teaching focus aligns with the Re:Verse system and utilizes a combination of live streaming of Pastor Don’s sermons and live preaching from Pastor Don and Josh Vaughan, the LOGOS venue minister.

•  How do kids fit into this venue?

Kids are welcome in LOGOS! While we don’t have a "Children’s Sermon" every week, we are helping families develop family faith moments in their home by providing "Family Worship in a Bag." These small brown bags with an object lesson and simple discussion questions can be picked up by the door on your way out after the service.
