Confession and Repentance

An Ash Wednesday Service

March 5 • 6:00 PM

4th Street Crossing

San Antonio, TX 78205

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. This is a season of preparation, lament, and repentance. We prepare our hearts to receive the good news of Christ's resurrection on Easter Sunday, and we do this by lamenting over our own sin and the sins of the world, repenting for that sin, and turning our attention back towards Christ.

As we begin this season, we will gather together on Ash Wednesday to read Scripture, to spend time in confession and repentance, and to worship Christ our Savior - reminding ourselves that he came as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. We will also use the symbol of ashes, placing a small mark on our foreheads to remind us of our need to be cleansed, and God's power to cleanse us.

We will gather in 4th Street Crossing at 6:00 PM. All are welcome to attend. Children’s activities will continue at their regularly scheduled times, and we will continue with our other Wednesday night activities following the service. We encourage all of you to join us with your friends or your family as we start this journey through Lent together.

We'll see you there.
