Deacon Mission Statement:
As a group of servant-leaders, the FBCSA deacon body exists to lead, assist and support FBCSA in making disciples for the Lord Jesus Christ. The heritage of deacon service goes back to New Testament times. The deacons serve the Lord by serving the congregation of First Baptist Church San Antonio. The office of deacon is not one of authority. It is a commitment of service.
"Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart..."
– 1 Peter 1:22
