Judson Day

10th Annual Judson Day Celebration

July 20 • 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

4th Street Crossing

The first American missionaries, Adoniram and Ann Judson, arrived in Yangon on July 13, 1813. Adoniram spent nearly forty years ministering in Burma, bringing many people to Christ. His ambition was to start a church with 100 members before he died. He had established 100 churches and over 8,000 believers by the time he died. Ann Judson stood by Judson as they ministered to the Burmese and tribal groups. Ann died in Burma due to illness. Through trials and tribulations, Adoniram continued to minister and translate the Bible into Burmese. His commitment to evangelism continues to inspire many in Burma (now known as Myanmar) and around the world.

The FBCSA International family would like to invite everyone to celebrate “Judson Day” to honor Adoniram & Ann Judson and what they did for the International family.

Guest Speaker:

Pastor Mark Heavener

BGCT, Director of Intercultural Ministries

As a campus minister in the 1990s, I observed significant shifts in the cultural landscape of the U.S. This observation motivated me to pursue a seminary degree in Cross-Cultural Ministries,

with a specific focus on Intercultural America.

Since 2008, my work with the Texas Baptists Office of Intercultural Ministries has provided invaluable opportunities to learn about and deeply appreciate the diverse ways God's kingdom

is expressed. Leading this ministry has further enriched my understanding of culture and the beautiful reflection of God found in people across the globe.

My ongoing efforts involve a commitment to considering various cultural perspectives to better understand and address the unique challenges faced by Intercultural churches. Additionally, I am

dedicated to the development of second-generation leadership, the cultivation of spiritual formation ministries, and equipping pastors and Intercultural Churches with resources and support to effectively fulfill their God-given calling.
