Go & Tell The Good News of Jesus to San Antonio
Monday, April 10 - Saturday, April 15
The following ideas are for you use to Go & Tell the Good News of Jesus! We must do everything we can to deliver people from sin and Satan's lies. People need to hear the truth. The Good News must be told. Go and be bold for Jesus!
There is lots of room within these ideas for creativity! The idea is to just get out there and do something, to share the gospel of Jesus with others. More details on each of these activities is listed on the webpage.
"Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News." Philippians 1:27 NLT
If you sign up for an organized activity with others, you will receive an email with more instructions.
Also, if you choose to help with CUB - Church Under The Bridge, you must be 16 years of age or older.
When working with children then you will need to fill out a background check form.
Please send us your shirt size if you do not already have a Green CM T-Shirt.
Creative Ways of Sharing the Gospel
1 Let's Ride a Bike
• Set up a place at your local bike trailhead and offer cold sports drinks to bikers and runners. You should say it’s free because we want to do something simply to show God’s love for you. Then ask, “Do you know what Grace is?” Offer a Gospel of John or a tract. Share your testimony.
• Do you have an old bike laying around rusting away? Donate it! Fix it up and give it to a homeless person or to someone else that needs it. You may consider including a bike lock with it.
• Donate a good used or new bike for a child that is being taken care of by a grandparent, single parent, or Foster parent. Then offer to teach them how to ride. Don't forget a helmet! Contact Byron to get matched up and get a background check first.
2 Can I Pray for You?
• Do you regularly go to the gym or to another establishment? Next to your vehicle in the parking lot, make a poster that says, "Can I pray for You?", and set up two or three camping/lawn chairs. See what God does.
• Go around your neighborhood and place a note that says, "I prayed for you today", on your neighbor's doors, or simply ask your neighbors how you can pray for them. Follow up later. Sign up for Blesseveryhome.com/fbcsa to receive prayer prompts and track your progress.
• Pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ. Call them on the phone. Visit them. Pray with them face-to-face when you see them at church on Sunday. Pray for persecuted Christians using Persecution.org.
3 Yes It's Really Free
• Go to your local playground or public park and hand out free cold bottles of water or popsicles in the name of Jesus. Offer a Gospel of John or a tract. Share your testimony.
• Offer to mow the lawn of someone in your community that cannot do it themselves. You can also offer to do other minor maintenance like buying and changing home air filters for the elderly, widows, and single mom’s.
• Find a Laundromat and offer to pay for people's laundry. You can also provide detergent and laundry baskets. This should give you time for conversation.
4 Jesus Loves the Little Children
• Become a Certified Foster Babysitter GET INVOLVED | Alliance For Orphans (alliance4orphans.org)
• Volunteer to Care for Children during Church Events, Parent's Day Out, during ESL Classes on Thursdays, or with Children’s outreach weekly and monthly. (Email Cheryl???) :)
• Volunteer at Strong Foundation Shelter Volunteer Opportunities - Strong Foundation Ministries San Antonio Texas
• Help with Briscoe Buddies prayer teams and volunteer to read to children. Mentoring volunteers also needed.
• Volunteer with the Afghan Children's Ministry
5 Enjoy Your Meal
• Go to a favorite restaurant and really pray and care for your Server and restaurant Staff. Tip well. Visit Again. Consider investing in the life of a struggling parent and their children by offering to help with daily needs. Become like family to them. This works well with Bible Study classes.
• Go to your local Fire Station and offer to cook a meal and serve it to the service men and women. Bring donuts to your local precinct during their roll call every morning for a week or pay for their lunch if you see the police dining at the same place as you.
• Volunteer at a local "soup kitchen" to serve those less fortunate than you. CUB is where we go every Friday evening. Sign up for CM Emails to be notified. Donate to ensure we can continue this ministry.
