First Youth Worship

MS & HS Worship Leadership Training

For many decades this group was known as Chapel Singers - First Baptist Church’s youth choir. Their role as a choir in the early editions were for worship services and in evening worship venues which set them apart as a church youth choir with a vast learned repertoire with a distinctive worship ministry responsibility.

After a year and a half break as the world navigated through COVID-19, we have entered a new season and are excited to say that First Youth Worship has been born with the vision of being an inclusive worship leading and discipleship avenue for youth in the First Baptist family. Students have the opportuniy to explore and grow in ministry through singing, playing of instruments as a part of a band, and learning to run audio, video, and lighting.

This group is open to all students grades 6-12, and rehearses in Webb 306 and Studio 3 on Sundays as a lunch + rehearsal right after our worship gatherings. Every 4th Sunday of month, in lieu of the normal rehearsal, First Youth Worship meets at 4:30pm and leads worship for FYF @ Night, the youth ministry's monthly gathering.
