Resist the Drift - Volunteers

Volunteer Information

FBCSA and Marriage Strong are partnering with Focus on the Family to host the Resist the Drift Marriage Conference on Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9.


This conference will be a large event and volunteers are needed! Volunteers can sign up for multiple jobs, as long as the times don't overlap. Everyone who volunteers will get fed and can attend the conference for free, if they would like, as long as they fulfill their volunteer duties.

Friday Evening Volunteer Opportunities:


Parking/Welcome Team - Friendly welcoming faces who can stay on their feet for 1+ hours. This team will be responsible for directing attendees to correct parking options and the building.


General Check-In - Friendly welcoming faces. Comfortable with technology and holding an iPad in hands. This team will be responsible for scanning tickets or looking up attendee names to check them in.


Premium Check-In - Friendly welcoming faces. Comfortable with technology and holding an iPad in hands. This team will be responsible for scanning tickets or looking up attendee names to check them in.


Onsite Registration - Friendly welcoming faces. Comfortable with technology and holding an iPad in hands. This role will be responsible for completing a registration for the walk up attendees on an iPad or computer and asking for payment (we do not accept cash, card only).


Ushers-Premium Seating - Friendly welcoming faces. Comfortable telling general admission guests that they cannot sit in premium seating. This team will direct attendees to the correct seating and ensure they have a workbook and pen.


Ushers-General Seating - Friendly welcoming faces. this team will direct attendees to the correct seating and ensure they have a workbook and pen.


Lobby/Bathroom Ushers - Friendly welcoming faces. this team will be responsible for directing attendees to break areas, bathrooms, and refreshments, and answering any questions that may arise.


On stage furniture movement - Physically able volunteers who can lift and move 3 pieces of furniture on stage.


Session 1 Floater/Remove Stanshions - Friendly welcoming faces. This team will be responsible for directing attendees to break areas, bathrooms, and refreshments, and answering any questions that may arise.


Refreshment Set-up - Setting out cups, napkins, etc onto refreshment tables. Filling and maintaining water containers as needed.


Break Ushers - Friendly welcoming faces. This team will be responsible for directing attendees to break areas, bathrooms, and refreshments, and answering any questions that may arise.


Session 2 Floater - Friendly welcoming faces. This team will be responsible for directing attendees to break areas, bathrooms, and refreshments, and answering any questions that may arise.


Refreshment Clean-up - Rinsing and putting away water containers from refreshment tables.


Reset Sanctuary/Lobby - Physically able to pick up trash/lean over.


Saturday Morning Volunteer Opportunities:


Premium Reception Greeters - Friendly welcoming faces. Comfortable with technology and holding an iPad in hands. This team will be responsible for scanning tickets or looking up attendee names to check them in.


Premium Reception Check-In - Friendly welcoming faces. Comfortable with technology and holding an iPad in hands. This team will be responsible for scanning tickets or looking up attendee names to check them in.


Premium Ushers - Friendly welcoming faces. This role will walk premium guests from premium experience back to sanctuary.


Ushers-Premium Seating - Same as Friday evening.


Ushers-General Seating - Same as Friday evening


Coffee Specialist - Use coffee machines in kitchen to brew coffee and fill coffee urns.


Refreshment Set-up - Setting out cups, napkins, coffee urns, etc onto refreshment tables. Filling and maintaining water containers as needed.


Session 1 Floater - Same as Friday evening.


Break Ushers - Same as Friday evening.


Hand Out Prayer Cards - Friendly welcoming faces who have hand dexterity to hand out cards. This team will be responsible for handing out small cards at sanctuary exit points.


Session 2 Floater - Same as Friday evening.


Tear Down and Clean Up
