Partnership

The Marla Rushing Center for Counseling, housed in the historic Wolfson House at First Baptist Church of San Antonio (FBCSA), is officially open and providing much-needed counseling services to the community. Operated in partnership with the Ecumenical Center of San Antonio, the center offers professional, faith-based mental health support to individuals seeking guidance and healing.

The Ecumenical Center

The Ecumenical Center fosters collaboration among community leaders in research, education, and medical and mental health to offer you professional help and hope in a caring atmosphere. Our counselors and educators understand that well-being encompasses the body, mind, and spirit. As individuals of personal faith with a deep respect for all beliefs, they are trained to incorporate your own spiritual understandings and traditions into your growth and healing journey, when you desire.

Mission

The Center is an ecumenical force for hope, dedicated to alleviating suffering and facilitating spiritual, ethical, physical, emotional and intellectual healing and growth for our community and God’s world.

The Center is affiliated with and accredited by three prominent faith-based, standard-setting organizations: The Samaritan Institute, the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education.

Fees

We are dedicated to providing high-quality counseling to as many individuals as possible. While our standard counseling fees are in line with other full-time mental health professionals, we are deeply committed to our mission of making services accessible to all. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we offer fee subsidies to those who may be unable to afford our standard rate. Your counselor will discuss appropriate fee adjustments with you during your initial session, taking into account factors such as gross family income and resources, number of dependents, and any extenuating circumstances.
